Alan has sung with several choirs over the years, and after joining the Orpheus  some three years ago is now an established member our second tenor section.  He combines his role of secretary with managing the choir's website.

​Sidney has been a member of the choir since 1996 and sings second bass. He enjoys both the singing and social aspects of being a choir member including performances and the camaraderie enjoyed during our rehearsal evenings. A retired RAF officer and MOD civil servant, of 43 years standing, Sidney's extensive work in the local community has been widely recognised and in 1999 he was awarded the MBE. In 2011 he was honoured with the award of the Bene Merenti Medal, one of the highest honours that can be awarded to a lay member of the Catholic Church, by his Holiness Pope Benedict XVI, in acknowledgement of his work in support of marriage, relationships and family life. In 2011 the  Jamaican Government honoured Sidney with the award of the Meritorious Badge of Honour in recognition of his voluntary service in support of the Diaspora Community here in England; the Community is a training consultancy and employment organisation which works with marginalised communities to increase their employability skills. Sidney was also honoured in 2012, at Burghley House in Lincolnshire, by being presented to Her Majesty the Queen in recognition of voluntary work in the community.  In addition to his role as Chairman of our choir, Sidney is a member of the East Midlands Region Crown Prosecution Panel's Hate Crime Scrutiny Panel; Lincolnshire's Honours Panel and the Court of the University of Lincoln.

​​Stuart was both a church and school chorister from a very early age and has always loved to sing, whenever the opportunity arises.  He joined us at an age ( Stuart's words) '' when I had time to do what I wanted to do and I love every minute of it, I wish I had done it years ago!''
